Moravia, with borders to Poland, Slovakia and Austria has Czech's second city of Brno as it's capital. Brno has a glorious history dating back as far as 1,000AD with the Great Moravian Empire and is the oldest continuous settlement within the Czech Republic.

Moravia ranges from the Highlands in the west with gently rolling green countryside, through the beautiful forests along the Morava River to extensive mountain ranges perfect for winter sports in the east and the north.
Southern Moravia is truly unique, with a milder climate it is home to numerous vineyards producing fine red and white wines, the quality of which is yet to be realised in Western Europe.

Moravia is dotted with beautiful architecture, numerous castles, monasteries, chateaux and country houses seemingly untouched by time.
This traditionally religious region boasts numerous historic churches and religious monuments. Moravia is generally an agricultural community with traditional farming methods often still in use. There is a very strong sense of community and tradition with many handicrafts still actively produced within the village communities.

This is a land of tradition and folklore handed down through the generations. Traditional music, folk costumes, decorated houses and frequent festivals are all part of life in Moravia.
